Linda Peacock

Floral art, sculpture Stanstead, Québec, Canada

was born in Quebec City. She studied interior design in Vancouver. During a long stay in Australia & New Zealand she became acquainted with a very different & beautiful natural world. It was there she developed an interest in floral design. In the mid 80’s, now back in Quebec, she studied floral design and operated a dried flower business, cultivating her plants & supplying hotels and various private venues with preserved & fresh floral arrangements. At the end of the 90’s, she moved to Vancouver Island where she continued working with materials in her immediate environment, playing with elements from the sea, the field, the marshes, the woods and her garden. Interesting objects, exotic flora and even skeletal parts of animals have found their way into her compositions lately, making them more sculptural. This artist allows the materials to dictate to her, which produces surprisingly evocative work.
