The pleasure of improvising is essential for me not only in watercolor but also with graphite powder and more recently with smoke, the latter I get by using candle soot or with a lighter on cardboard or canvas. You could say I play with fire.
Painting in monochrome requires emphasis on contrasts and more intensive consideration of the three-dimensional aspect.

As soon as the flame touches the surface I forget everything and I improvise, what a pleasure! Abstract or figurative matter little to me as long as I am creating.
