A background in interior and floral design brought me to this artform. My daily walks and my love of collecting natural materials drive me to create these evocative one–of-a-kind compositions. I work with exotics as well as common botanicals found in my immediate environment and my garden. All parts of the plant are useful; roots, stems, foliage, flowers and pods. I work with elements from the sea, the field, the marsh, the woods and the cultivated garden. Found objects and animal parts find their way into my work to enhance and evoke. My inspiration comes from how beautifully the elements play together by way of contrasting textures, forms and movements. I allow the materials to dictate during the process, making the task of producing much more surprising, fun and rewarding.
